This Casarva Sportster XLH 883 trike was converted from belt to chain drive so that we could fit the Casarva Chain Drive Reverse gearbox which enables us to give it a slightly longer wheelbase
The Slash Cuts and the down tubes are rerouted in stainless steel with heat shield to exit underneath the offside
The conversion has a Casarva chain drive differential connected to the reverse gearbox which is housed on a movable mounting so that the primary drive chain tension can be adjusted and then the rear chain too.
The customer wanted to change the riding position to more feet forward so Forward Set brake and gear levers were fitted.
The trike has a Casarva steel flatbed rack with 600 x 300 bed for load carrying.
Casarva IRS (independent Rear Suspension) trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.
The drive line, irrespective of being shaft, chain or belt driven, has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
