Casarva Harley Davidson Screamin’ Eagle VRSCSE CVO VROD trike.
It is a rare bike to start with. (The CVO means Custom Vehicle Operations at Harley). The engine is 1250cc as opposed to the earlier 1130 and it was designed with Porsche.
This trike however, was designed by Casarva! Unusually the bike frame is made in 1.5″ diameter so Casarva have created the trike conversion in 1.5″ too to match (normally 1.25″). We followed the lines of the bike and extended them into the trike. The frame is painted in red with metal flake to match apart from the differential and hub carriers which are in gun metal.
Standard calipers have been deleted to make was for a pair of Wilwoods which are operated via braided and coated hydraulic lines and a stainless trigger handbrake.
The belt was removed and replaced with XW seal chain and Casarva Renthal sprocket. The rear differential is driven via a Casarva reverse transfer gearbox with polished stainless bearing gantry and stainless lever system.
Mudguards are bespoke and follow the lines of the original centre guard and have been airbrushed to match the original Screamin’ Eagle paint scheme from Harley.
Upper and Lower wishbones and the Anti-Roll bar are in Polished stainless steel and all the bolts are polished A4 Stainless too.
The exhaust system has been completely re routed to exit either side with stainless heat shields and tubes ending in a pair of Vance and Hines silencers.
Wheels are Rota Kyusha’s with deep polished rims and gunmetal centres and shod with 235 x 17 tyres.
It is Unique. It Is quality. It is Casarva.
What is Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) on a trike?
Casarva IRS (independent Rear Suspension) trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.
The drive line irrespective of being shaft, chain or belt driven, has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
