This single seat Casarva Sportster 883XL trike retains it’s belt drive and because drive belts are limited in length means the trike is a Short Wheel Base. (SWB) But the handling is fine and perky because of our excellent Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) set up.
The original twin exhausts have been replaced with Vance & Hines Slash Cuts and the down tubes elongated slightly to exit underneath the offside and because we keep the original mounting method original OEM silencers (mufflers) can be fitted if desired.
The rack is in mirror polished Stainless Steel and made here at Casarva . The ample 300 x 600 bed provides a good loading platform – and we can make racks of any size and specification.
The conversion has a Casarva differential mated to the bikes original pulley and sits on l6″ MSW by OZ 5 Spoke Alloy wheels
Casarva IRS trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.
The drive line irrespective of being shaft, chain or belt driven – like this Casarva Sportster 883XL trike – has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
