This Casarva Harley Davidson Sportster 883 Trike retains it’s belt drive and  because drive belts are limited in length means the trike is a Short Wheel Base. (SWB)

The original twin exhausts have been rerouted and elongated slightly to exit underneath the offside and because we keep the original mounting method after market silencers e.g. Vance & Hines can be fitted if desired.

The conversion has a Casarva differential mated to the bikes original pulley and sits on low profile 17″ Alloys and low profile tyres

What is Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) on a trike?

Casarva IRS trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.

The drive line irrespective of being shaft, chain or belt driven – like this Casarva Sportster 883XL trike – has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
