Featured on the cover of TRIKE Magazine is the Casarva BMW R1150 GS Adventure IRS Trike with reverse gearbox. It is the only one we know of in existence. It uses the Brute Conversion mated to a Quaife Reverse gearbox. We have remounted the panniers, added Reversing and Rear Fog lights, plus a 3 stage suspension mounting. We have removed the ABS at the customer’s request and added a Stainless Tow Bar.
Casarva IRS (independent Rear Suspension) trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.
The drive line irrespective of being chain, belt or shaft (like this Casarva BMW R1150GS A trike), has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
We are recognised as the experts in motorcycle to trike conversions with many years of experience. Please contact us if you want to no more, there is no obligation we want people to make informed decisions when they are thinking about a trike wherever they get it from.
