Casarva Kawasaki Vulcan VN900C IRS trike
The Casarva Kawasaki VN900c belt drive trike. And has our Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) bolt on trike conversion fitted. This means is has fully polybushed pivots unequal length wishbones. An anti roll bar in spring steel. properly rated adjustable shocks. To the rear brakes a larger rear brake master cylinder was fitted and new disk brake system. This trike has black twin spar 17″ alloys. We mounted LED stop tail and indicators to the mudguards. And the paint was painstakingly matched to the mudguards.
The belt drive is to a Casarva Differential with the bikes original pulley machined and mounted to it.
Our frame is in 1.25″ British steel tube (the same diameter as the bike’s) with grease nipples on each pivot point for easy servicing . It’s blasted, zinc primed and powder coated in the same finish as the bike’s.
The Casarva custom routed dual stainless steel exhaust system sounds great.
What is Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) on a trike?
Casarva IRS (independent Rear Suspension) trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.
The drive line, irrespective of being shaft, chain or belt driven, has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
