Casarva Harley Davidson Electra Ultra Glide Low (FLHTKL) Trike

This Casarva Harley Davidson Electra Ultra Glide Low Trike  – a 2015 FLHTKL   was fitted with a Casarva Belt Drive IRS trike conversion. The mudguards are painted to match the bikes in deep burgundy metallic and red with pinstripes to match the bikes. The existing Vance & Hines  silencers were re-routed in stainless steel with mirror polished heat shields and metastatic bushes to absorb some of the vibration.

Wheels are Wolfrace 17″ Black /Polished in keeping with the front wheel

Raked triple trees were fitted to make steering easier and the trike has a reverse gearbox mounted to the offside of the engine

Suspension is via 2 Casarva Protech shocks with a Casarva Anti-roll bar in in EN43 spring steel and new disk brakes are fitted to the rear.

The rear also has a set of Casarva Mirror Polished parallel bull bars.

What is Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) on a trike?

Casarva IRS (independent Rear Suspension) trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.

The drive line irrespective of being shaft, belt (like this Casarva  Harley Ultra Glide Trike) or chain driven, has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
