This Casarva Honda CMX1100 Rebel DCT trike has the Honda automatic gearbox. it is also fitted with a Casarva Elite Chain Drive Reverse gearbox. A Casarva chain drive IRS trike conversion kit makes with independent rear suspension (IRS) provides great handling and comfort. The Rebel is a great cruiser type motorcycle to trike conversion for those who may need or want an automatic gearbox. And the exhaust system was replaced and a solo seat rack fitted.
Because the bike has an automatic gearbox there is no need for a clutch lever or gearshift lever. So it is ideal for those with challenges to their left hand and / or foot. With the reverse chain drive gearbox it really does make this the go anywhere trike.
We blast, zinc prime and powder coat the frame. We did this in a matt finish to match the bike’s. With the optional Casarva parallel bull bars at the rear complete the look at the rear.
Hand painted mudguards are in matching metallic orange paint. Bright 3″ LED Stop Tail & Indicators are mounted at the back with front facing marker lights for safety.
We customised the seat in Orange and Black with diamond stitching. “Rebel” is embroidered in the centre with a tribute to David Bowie on either side in the form of the Black Star logo from his last album.
Wheels are lightweight Fox FX5 Y spoke alloys to match the front wheel, repainted gloss black to match
It is a stylish and great trike to ride with plenty of power from the 1100 Africa Twin derived engine.
Casarva IRS (independent Rear Suspension) trikes handle better and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. It means tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky. Each side has it’s own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in EN43 spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.
The drive line irrespective of being chain, shaft or belt driven, has a differential. This allows the wheels to rotate independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike. Options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. We select tyres and wheel size for each trike – one size definitively does not fit all.
