This Casarva Harley Davidson Electra Ultra Glide Trike – a 2012 FLHTK was fitted with a body tub and hand made aluminium panels. The body is painted to match the bikes in blue metallic flake and has a lockable boot. The powder coated Casarva rear bumper is profiled and the trike has a Casarva demountable tow-bar with single electrics.
The existing screamin’ eagle silencers were re routed in stainless steel with mirror polished heat shields with stainless end caps.
A reverse gearbox was fitted to the offside of the engine and raked triple trees were fitted to make steering easier and the batwing fairing was repainted to repair previous damage
The the belt drive was replaced with chain to give a longer wheelbase and trike conversion cradle is a Casarva Brute IRS chain drive which has been powder coated. Suspension is via 2 Casarva Protech shocks with a Casarva Anti-roll bar in in EN43 spring steel and new disk brakes are fitted to the rear
Casarva IRS (independent Rear Suspension) trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.
The drive line irrespective of being shaft, chain (like this Casarva Harley Ultra Glide Trike) or belt driven, has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
