Casarva Triumph Rocket 3 Classic Trike
The “Classic” Rocket 111 2.3 litre version of the bike was the donor and was fitted with a Casarva stainless 3 into 2 exhaust system using the silencers from the Roadster to then exit underneath the bottom wishbones
Raked triple trees change the steering geometry and make the trike much easier to steer which is really required on a trike that weighs 520Kg.
We fitted the Casarva Elite Reverse gearbox to make moving around a breeze for such a big trike.
Wheels are 17″ Lattice Alloy wheels with polished rims and 275 tyres covered by Casarva Rocket wings which feature the Triumph OEM rear stop tail light and where painted to match the bike with blue, silver and gold pinstripe.
A custom Casarva 600 x 300 bed powder coated steel rack was fitted for load lugging duties and the Triumph OEM panniers were relocated to bring them over the top of the upper wishbones
What is Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) on a trike?
Casarva IRS (independent Rear Suspension) trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.
The drive line irrespective of being chain, belt or shaft, has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
