For the first time this trike is available for sale due to health and we are promoting it here on behalf of our customer ( it is still with them) who took delivery in November 2021 the donor bike was first registered in 1989. when it was built the total mileage was 15,146 miles and now its just 18000.
The Kawasaki ZX10 “Tomcat” has a reputation as a great bike in the 80’s and has become one of the iconic sports bikes of all time.
Kawasaki’s in-line 4 cylinder motor is strong and is mounted on the Kawasaki E Box frame. So proud of it were they that they added a decal to the fairing to emphasise it. So when we were asked to convert this bike icon we decided to elongate the E Box up to the trike conversion and you can see from the photos that’s exactly what we have done.
The chain drive IRS conversion was powder coated in silver to match the bike and the mudguards painted in the original red, white and metallic grey of the bike.
We painted the rear wheels white to match the front and fitted a set of K2 twin brake levers ( supplied by charity The National Association for Bikers with a Disablity (NABD)) to the handlebars, locking off the rear brake pedal and added a Hepco & Becker rack and top case to add a bit of storage
The trike needs an MOT and then you are ready to go and enjoy this season and can be viewed at the owners premises in Sheffield. Please contact us on 01733 234942 or email info@casarva.co.uk with ZX10 in the subject lines and include your name, phone number and email address and we will put you in direct contact with the owner.
Casarva only sell Casarva trike on their customers behalf because we know the quality standards to which they are built which will give the new owner peace of mind.
What is Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) on a trike?
Casarva IRS (independent Rear Suspension) trikes handle better and and are more comfortable to ride than those with a solid axles. The tyres stay planted in the road surface giving you maximum control if the road gets a little tricky because each side has its own suspension system which are connected by an anti-roll bar made in spring steel. This assists the shock absorbers in keeping the rear end planted, reduces rider shock and assists with steering.
The drive line irrespective of being shaft, belt or chain, has a differential which allows the wheels to turn independently of each other via half shafts which have been tailor made to each trike and there are options on the track width and wheelbase length to make sure that the trike is set up to be the best it can be. Tyres and wheel size are selected to works best with each trike – one size definitively does not fit all not fit all.
